Nvidia GeForce RTX 4080 Super – Reviews

Nvidia Geforce Rtx 4080

Hey everyone, Haseeb here. As a hardcore PC gamer, I’m always on the lookout for the latest and greatest graphics cards. So, when Nvidia announced the RTX 4080 Super, I was pretty hyped. But after putting it through its paces for a few weeks, I have some mixed feelings. Let’s break it down and see if this Super upgrade is worth your hard-earned cash.

About the Nvidia RTX 4080 Super

In addition, does the Nvidia RTX 4080 Super cost less than the 4080 that was canceled, but it also offers a modest performance gain.

In terms of specifications, the RTX 4080 Super seems to provide little more than a little improvement over its now-discontinued predecessor, the RTX 4080. On paper, the improvements sound promising: a peak speed of 2.55 GHz from 2.51 GHz, a slightly faster base clock of 2.29 GHz compared 2.21 GHz, and a rise in CUDA cores from 9,728 to 10,240. However, those anticipating a notable performance jump may be let down.

We tested the RTX 4080 Super Founders Edition, which does not have the mild overclocking that some cards from third parties have. Our test setup included an AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D processor, an EVGA SuperNOVA 750 GM 750-watt, 80 Plus Gold power supply, and an MSI MPG B650I Edge motherboard with 32GB of Corsair Dominator Titanium RAM operating at 6000MHz.

PROS
  • Competitive price
  • Exceptional ray-tracing performance
  • Decent power draw and thermal results
  • Mild boosts in general performance over original RTX 4080
CONS
  • Too expensive for some users.
  • Needs a superior power source
  • Runs a bit warm under load

What we like

  • After installing the 4080 Super, my initial impression was that, aside from its enormous size, it performs far better than the Asus ProArt 4070 Ti, which I use for daily gaming.
  • It’s clearly that the 4080 Super has juice after putting it through our routine battery of GPU benchmarks, which includes both artificial and real-world gaming testing.
  • Its plenty powerful
  • Its run very cool and quiet which is very beneficial for me.

What we don’t Like

  • It’s incredible how big it is.: While it may seem like a “old man yells at cloud” anger, GPU sizes have skyrocketed in the last five years. The RTX 4080 Super came in a box bigger than my dog, and the actual black box with the card inside is nearly the same size as my whole computer
  • There are still an abundance of adaptor cables needed: Assume you take up any 4080 Super and slide it into your PC case, only to find that you can hardly close the side panel. Imagine now how awful it is as you gradually come to the realization that you neglected to take into consideration the 12+4 pin 12VHPWR power connector adaptor that Nvidia used for this generation.
